Dubai, March 03, 2009: Trading Enterprises – Honda, an Al-Futtaim group company and exclusive distributor of Honda in the UAE, will showcase the world’s first seaworthy electric boat at the Dubai International Boat Show which begins today thus bringing safe, environmental friendly yachting experience in the Middle East for the first time.

With zero emission, no noise and over six hours of autonomous running time on a single charge, this boat is the only product of its type in the world. To add versatility to its operations, the 5.30 standard V-Hull boat accommodates an outboard marine engine offering customers the option of running the unit on electric power or gasoline. The engine, with new generation batteries, is the latest offering by La Perle of France.

The boat will be featured at Honda Marine’s stand located at EX37 (outdoor) and K9-1 (indoor).

Products on display also include Honda’s award winning outboard marine engines starting from a 2HP engine till the 225HP engine. In addition the BF225, 150, 135 and the BF90 outboards that feature Honda’s exclusive VTEC (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) technology and the recently developed B75 and 90 engines that feature BLAST (Boosted Low Speed Torque Technology) will also be on display at the Honda Marine stand.

All Honda Outboard engines carry a 1-year warranty and Trading Enterprises – Honda offers on site service thus eliminating the need to bring the boat or engines to the workshop in order to ensure a more enjoyable ownership experience.
