Encouraging cycling in the Kingdom's most beautiful locations

Amman, June 2009 – In line with its efforts to promote sports, Umniah – the fastest growing telecom service provider in Jordan – announced the signing of a cooperation agreement with Cycling Jordan wherein Umniah will sponsor the group's various activities with the aim of encouraging cycling as a sport. The events include weekly and monthly bicycle trips to some of the Kingdom's most beautiful natural locations, such as the Dana Nature Reserve, Petra and Wadi Rum, combining aspects of bike riding, mountain climbing and camping. In addition, Umniah will also be sponsoring Cycling Jordan's annual bicycle races.
Commenting on this step, Mr. Ihab Hinnawi, Umniah's CEO, said: "We are pleased to support Cycling Jordan, which offers youth the opportunity to discover the beauty of many of Jordan's distinct locations through unique activities that transcend the traditional concept of out-door sports. In turn Mr. Saad Darwazeh, General Manager of Cycling Jordan, stated: "We highly appreciate Umniah's tangible and ongoing support of various local youth activities, especially those related to sports.
