EMS plays a leading role in improving energy and water efficiency and implementing renewable energy solutions and sustainable programs
Amman, October 2008 – In accordance with its commitment to spreading the latest in environmental practices and awareness, Energy Management Services International LLC (EMS) – the first company to provide energy management solutions (ESCo) in the Middle East – announced its participation in the "Eco-Cities of the Mediterranean 2008" Forum, which opened under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Hamzah Bin Al Hussein in the Dead Sea on 18 October 2008 and which will end today.
The forum was held in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs (MMA), Greater Amman Municipality (GAM), UNIDO, and USAID with the aim of placing the spotlight on the most prominent environmental challenges facing the region, and finding the best solutions to counter them.
EMS's participation in the Forum involved an introductory presentation conducted by Eng. Khaled Bushnaq, EMS CEO, who explained the benefits of Green Buildings on the individual, corporate and environmental levels, in addition to highlighting the importance of LEED certification to residential, commercial and industrial project developers. Mr. Bushnaq stressed the company's stance on encouraging the adoption of the best environmental practices and its contribution to promoting the Green Community concept, which has become one of the world's most important topics.
Mr. Bushnaq went on to highlight prominent international studies which have proven the importance of Green solutions in the work environment, as research results show that the productivity of employees working within Green Buildings improves by 7-15% compared to the productivity of employees working in conventional buildings.
Several EMS Board Members attended the Forum, where state-of-the-art solutions and services in the field of energy, water efficiency and environmental protection technology were provided. EMS also conducted a presentation on the important projects it is currently undertaking and those it has executed and which have yielded tangible results for its clients, often achieving energy and water savings in the range of 10-35%.
Commenting on the company's participation, Eng. Amjad Alkam, General Manager of EMS, said: "It gives us great pleasure to be present at this unique event, which is the first of its kind in the region and which has brought together the most prominent regional and international leaders and experts from different sectors.
