Amman, November 2009 – Umniah – the fastest growing telecom service provider in Jordan – concluded its Umniah Karting League last Friday, 13th of November 2009, whereby the final race took place at the Jordan Speed Center (JSC), and Mr. Nabeeh Walid Nabeeh Moammar was crowned as the first place winner; Mr. Sahl Yusuf Sulaiman won second place; and Mr. Wasim Rene George Zanbeel won third place.
Umniah launched the Umniah Karting League for the second consecutive year in line with its dedication to offering exciting sport activities to Jordanian youth that raise the level of sports in Jordan overall. The qualifying rounds of this open-for-all event were held at the Jordan Speed Center (JSC) circuit on the 5th, 6th and 7th of November 2009, whereby out of 625 participants, the top three drivers who achieved the best lap time results at the end of each of the three qualifying race days were selected to participate in the final race. The final race was held on Friday, the 13th of November, and involved the naming of the final race winner and the awarding of special prizes to the top three finalists.
The prizes were awarded to the race winners by Umniah’s CEO, Mr. Ihab Hinnawi, and Amman Deputy Prime Minister and Vice Chairman of the Motor Sport Executive Council Eng. Amer Al-Basheer. The first place winner received a CRG/Rotax go-kart with a one year membership at the Jordan Speed Center valued at JD 7000; the second place winner received a laptop with a one year Internet subscription; and the third place winner received a PlayStation 3 console.
“The Umniah Karting League was a wonderful opportunity for everyone, whether they are Umniah subscribers or customers of other networks, to participate in a fun and exhilarating event that appeals to their competitive spirit and offers participants the opportunity to compete and win valuable prizes and enjoy themselves,” said Mr. Hinnawi. “Umniah’s launch of the Umniah Karting League is in accordance with our efforts to provide our subscribers with intriguing events that support sports in the Kingdom in order to remain as their first choice for a telecom service provider in the Kingdom, not only on the level of innovative telecom services, but also on the level of community activities and programs that enable us to engage with our subscribers in various occasions."
It is worth noting that, as part of its interest in motivating its subscribers to participate in the League and to ensure their enjoyment in their participation, Umniah offered its participating subscribers free training coupons at JSC from Umniah’s main branch before the date of the race.
