Under its participation in one of the most challenging marathons globally for the 5th consecutive year

Amman, March 2010 – Aramex, the global logistics and transportation solutions provider, today announced that its runners Salameh al-Aqra and Mohammed al- Suwaiti will participate at the 2010 Marathon Des Sables in Morocco.

The Marathon Des Sables, held for six consecutive days in the Moroccan desert from the 3rd of April until the 10th of April 2010, is an internationally renowned ultra marathon that brings together a wide array of marathon runners from across the globe. The 250km race is marked by extreme climatic conditions and landscapes including towering sand dunes, uneven rocky terrain, and dangerous valleys.

We are pleased to be participating in this marathon for the 5th consecutive year. We are also extremely proud of the previous achievements of al-Aqra and al-Suwaiti and we will continue to support them toward achieving greater success.“ In the 2009 marathon, which drew over 900 competitors from around the world, al-Aqra and al-Suwaiti placed 3rd and 58th, respectively.

The Aramex runners expressed their pride in last year’s marathon achievements, stressing their appreciation to Aramex for their constant support and encouragement. Since 2000, Aramex has provided support to the two Jordanian runners, allowing them to further their athletic careers and compete on an international level.
