Umniah Builds a Playground in Mabarrat Um Al Hussein

Amman, July 2010 – As part of its social programs and activities that aim at serving children and orphans in particular, Umniah announced that it has volunteered to build a playground in Mabarrat Um Al Hussein in the North Marka district. The playground was inaugurated by Her Royal Highness Princess Basma Bint Talal in the presence of Mr. Ihab Hinnawi, Umniah’s CEO.

The construction of the playground was carried out as part of the development and renovation operations executed by Mabarrat Um Al Hussein during the last two months to provide its students with different recreational facilities, and to maintain the level of services that the orphanage offers its children.

The Mabarrat Um Al Hussein playground is one of several playgrounds that Umniah has sponsored and established in cooperation with the Greater Amman Municipality in different parts of Amman.

Commenting on this initiative, Mr. Ihab Hinnawi said: “We continuously strive through our social activities to deepen our engagement with our local community and to establish projects that benefit all segments. Our decision to construct the playground specifically for the children at Mabarrat Um Al Hussein stemmed from our belief that every child is entitled to lead a healthy and enjoyable life regardless of their living conditions. This step is also in line with the orphanage’s role in ensuring the social and familial security of these children, in addition to providing them with basic education and developing their skills.”
