Amman, July 2010 – Umniah announced the dispatch of a convoy of 500 pilgrims to perform Umrah rituals at the holy city of Mecca and to visit the tomb of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in Al-Medina Al-Munawara. The initiative was organized in collaboration with Umniah’s authorized dealer in the local market, Al Aryan Telecommunications, and Nourmina TV will be escorting the convoy to cover this religious event.

This initiative reflects Umniah’s sense of belonging towards the local community, and corresponds with its interest in engaging with the members of its community during important religious events.

Commenting on this step, Mr. Ihab Hinnawi, Umniah’s CEO, said: “We are pleased to organize this religious pilgrimage, especially with the approach of the holy month of Ramadan, since we strive through all our social initiatives to benefit our local community.
