As part of its support to sustainable socio-economic development
Amman, August 2010 – On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan and as part of its support to sustainable development in Jordan, Umniah launched its ‘Urdon Al Khair… Umniah Al Khair’ program for the second consecutive year.
The program provides 15 Jordanian families chosen from different governorates across the Kingdom with sustainable employment opportunities, empowering them to overcome the economic challenges they face by helping them establish and expand their own productive projects to optimally utilize their skills and maintain a stable source of income. The form of support provided by Umniah will differ from one family to another based on each family’s unique circumstances and needs in order to effectively enrich their sense of belonging to their work and their communities.
The chosen families’ stories will be aired on a daily basis on Nourmina TV within “Rabhan fi Ramadan” program throughout the month of Ramadan after Iftar. Each family’s success story will be featured in two episodes; the first episode will highlight the family’s initial circumstances and daily struggles, whilst the second episode will showcase the family’s altered circumstances after making use of Umniah’s support and succeeding in achieving its aspirations.
“The main premise behind the 'Urdon Al Khair… Umniah Al Khair' program is to build upon Umniah’s responsibility as an active corporate citizen and a positive agent of change,” said Mr. Ihab Hinnawi, Umniah CEO. “Our sense of belonging to the Jordanian community constitutes the core of our corporate identity and is the basis upon which we establish all of our activities. We hope that this program will help instill the principals of determination, ambition and belonging to life, productivity and the future, all of which are values that pave the road to success.”
